An unplanned visit to a beautiful Beach around Panjim || Miramar Beach, Goa, INDIA

While in Goa, we had not planned to visit Miramar which is in Southern part of Goa. Supposedly this beach is one of the most visited beaches of Goa, which we realized after reaching the beach. Basically we found this beach on our way when we were crossing Panjim City to reach Dona Paula and thought of stopping here. This Photo Journey shares some of the photographs from Miramar Beach in Goa, with some information about the place.Second day of our trip was planned to explore Panjim and surrounding areas. We started early in the morning and hit Panjim very early. We had Dona Paula in our mind as first stop of the day but we when we passing by the panjim City, we noticed a beautiful beach on our right and there was enough parking space as well :). So thought of stopping here and see. To our suprise, there were lot of folks on the beach. When I say 'lot of', it was not crowdy. It's just that we had very less expectations from the beach and we were not even aware which beach is this. While went close to the beach, we asked a coconut vendor about the name and he introduced us to Miramar Beach in Goa. There were lot of families on the beach and it felt great to see cheerful faces on the beach and kids running around. All that touched us and we got a very good impression of Miramar beach. We liked Miramar so much that we planned to Visit Miramar again in the evening and most of the photographs here are shot in the evening. Above photograph shows a security van which keeps a closer look at all the tourists on the beach and warn them through a loudspeaker if anyone is going deep inside the sea or tries to enter the prohibited area. These vans were there on almost every beach. Miramar Beach is essentially located at the confluence of the River Mandovi and the Arabian Sea. It is relatively a smaller beach and Goa Tourism organize some events on this beach during different occasions in an year, but not as popular events as hosted by Candolim in North Goa.It seems that various educational institutions are there around Miramar beach of goa and some of them are Dhempe College of Arts and Science, Padmashree Vasantrao Dempo Higher Secondary School of Arts and Science and Sharada Mandir High School.Miramar beach is located around Goan capital Panjim. Many folks, mostly tourists, come to this beach every day and those who are staying in the vicinity. One of the popular hotel of Goa Tourism is there on Miramar beach and we found it a good location to stay. We may consider it during our next visit. It seems that Miramar beach was originally named Porta de Gaspar Dias by the Portuguese...
