The Orchha Wildlife Sanctuary || The Best Spot to Watch the Sun Set behind the Dramatic Chhatris

Without a doubt, the Chhatris that were constructed in 17th and 18th centuries in Orccha are the most photographed historical buildings in the city. These Chhatris stand tall, reminding the inhabitants and tourists alike of the great Bundela rulers of Orccha.

These chhatris, with their tall, cubicle structures with almost temple-like spires, are impressive and imposing architectural marvels that lend a lot of character to the skyline of Orchha. These Chhatris are best viewed from a distance against sunset.

The best vantage point to watch the sun set behind these dramatic structures is the wildlife sanctuary across the River Betwa. While you are not allowed to go inside the wildlife sanctuary after sunset, you can manage the time such that you watch the sun set and also get out of the sanctuary without irking the guards too much.

We stayed here for about half an hour and were rewarded by some of the most spectacular views of the sunset. However, the sky was clear that day. Some cumulus clouds would have made it even better. But then one must not be greedy. One cannot have everything. We were happy by the time we left this place, and that's all that matters.
