'I prefer Monday in a long weekend instead of Friday' - A friend from Literature Studio's Writers Circle

Last week, I also planned to attend Literature Studio's Writers' Circle and one of the writers told his short story wherein he mentioned that one of the characters in his story always wished to have Monday in his long weekend. After he finished the story, I asked about the reason and he gave me 2 -

1. For that week, you will not be sad on Monday morning because you need not to go to office :)
2. And the week after a monday would be of 4 days :)

I know, if we apply our minds too much, this doesn't really make sense. But tell these reasons to someone who really feels sad on monday after a weekend.
