A Spiritual Photo Journey to Haridwar by Sourabh Sengupta

Fed up of my mundane city life I decided to take a quick break and sent a mail to my boss asking for couple of days break. Let's check out this Photo Journey to know what all happened during the weekend at Haridwar...Without any further delay i got a positive response and now the big question popped up as to where to go as i had only 4 days break. After lot of brainstorming i decided to visit Rishikesh and booked my ticket in Indian Railways and got my tickets confirmed in Jan Shatabdi Express .All this while i was thinking as to why do always hills attract me always , was i a mountain guy in my previous birth and such questions haunted my through my sleep. Finally on 7th Oct 2012 i booked a Meru Cab and went to Station and got into my coach D8 and then at 3:30 in the evening my journey finally started. This train was the fastest way i could reach my stop over destination and my stop over destination was Haridwar .I reached there in 5 hrs and went to a Hotel which was adjacent to river Ganga.I was supposed to leave for Rishikesh early next morning but something inside me stopped me from moving ahead and i listened to my heart and i stopped .Next day i woke up early morning and took my camera and went ahead to see the early morning beauty of river and nature. It was an amazing experience. The sun was yet to rise and the night sky was about to diminish and this situation created amazing riot of colours and my heart filled with joy and peace.I sat by the river side and the sound of flowing river was the only sound that i was able to hear.Even the birds were in a relaxing mood probably .I took some shots of early morning sky .Then as the day progressed i went ahead for some sightseeing and went to local bazar and had some amazing food.I had poori choley from Mohan choley , its situated right beside Vishnu Ghat .Then went to different temples like Radha Swami temple,Ganga Temple to name a few.But the most memorable part of this journey was the evening aarti .This aarti is a regular ritual and the most amazing part of the travel .This ritual is to purify every human being be it of any religion from the sins and renew the life journey afresh after a dip in the river. This is a 30 mins of prayer to river Ganga followed by chants. This activity followed for next two days and on 9th Oct evening i took a bus and reached delhi and this culminated my much needed spiritual break !!

Fed up of my mundane city life I decided to take a quick break and sent a mail to my boss asking for couple of days break.
