Last Stretch of Third Day to reach the most beautiful camping site called Kullu Sarahan - MTB Himachal 2010

During the evening of third day, we were close to most exciting camping site of MTB Himachal 2010.. Kullu Srahan... A lovely place surrounded by snow covered hills.. It was a nice valley at 3200 meters... Clear view to star trails, blue/bright sky, waterfalls etc... Check the photographs of last stretch which was really tough for riders and most of us reached very late in the camp...

Don't expect nice evenings in MTB Himachal 2010... In my opinion, evening were very boring... No group activity and zero interaction... but everyone used to enjoy in small groups...

I was surprised to see that there was no arrangement for evening fun and it was hard to find any of the organizer after 9:00 pm.. After that every one used to disperse and none of us bothered to interact with each other during bonfire... I had got good company and we used to spend time in our tent with Rum and some local stuff :)

We started last stretch from Baghipul which was the last point for noting down the time taken by riders to complete the day... Baghipul was near Shrikhand River and now we had to climb up 12 kilometers through an extremely rough road... Some of our vehicles stuck on the way...

In my opinion slope of these hills was 65-75 degrees and most of us were scared for some time... but everyone was trying to hide it by cracking some jokes :) ... MTB 2009 winner was in our car because he was injured... He made us laugh us a lot....

Only few areas are getting some sunlight and soon it will be dark.... It was the time when we had started from Baghipul and no one was aware about the next route ... Even no information about the distance we had to cover to reach the camp.... Organizers were not much bothered about all these details :)

Gaddi going home in the evening.... Gaddi is the word which describe a shepherd in Himachal Pradesh...

Gaddi is the word which describe a shepherd in Himachal Pradesh...Colorful villages on the way to Kullu Sarahan from Baghipul.... These were fields of 'Chalai', a local crop... Chalai is used in winters and considered as a good source of warmth for the body...After climbing few kilometers we had clear views of shrikhand mountain ranges and all were covered with snow... Lovely colors of sunset were reflecting on the snow... although photograph is not showing the exact view.. It was wonderful...A noisy photograph of the day time... I think it's Satluj river on the left side of this photograph...Finally we reached Sarahan village and got our tents... It was the time to open the new bottle of RUM and get ready to fight with the chilling weather of the place...
