Ferry on Hoogly - Millenium Park, Kolkata (West Bengal, India)

Recently when we were in Kolkata, we visited Millenium park which is around Hoogly river. There is a ferry operator company inside the Millenium park. It was getting dark when we reached the park, so didn't plan to take the ferry, but most of the folks coming in were queuing up for ferry tickets. These ferries take you to the tour of Hoogly river. They go towards the Princep Ghat, Vidyasagar Setu and then turn towards Howrah Bridge. Apart from the tourist ferries, there are some ferries which drop local folks at different parts of Kolkata. They were pretty much packed during evening and we were happy that we skipped these. But I found that most of the kids coming out from these ferries were quite happy. So probably it's worth a try and especially you are with kids. There is another ticket of 5 rs to enter Millenium park and there are lot of interesting things for kids.
