Record Snowfall in Himachal Pradesh : Shimla, Dharmshala, Palampur, Kangra, Hamirpur and various regions of Kangra, Mandi and Kullu !!!

It's been 3 days when I am continuously seeing snowfall updates from various parts of Himachal Pradesh. It started with capital city of Himachal, Shimla. Today Dharmshala also got some snow. The amazing part is that various parts in himachal have got unexpected snowfall and this is the first time it happened. Palampur, Kangra and even Hamirpur was covered with white snow-sheet on 7th Jan 2012. Let's have a quick Photo Journey from various parts of Himachal and photographs shared by different people mentioned below. Here is a photograph shared by Arpit Kalia and his friend (name to be added). An amazing photograph showing white dhauladhar mountain ranges, with a huge range of houses covered with white snow in foreground. I wish I was there to witness the moment as well. We have a plan for Pong dam in January and hope to see more snow during end of the month as well...It was very normal when people heard about snowfall in Shimla and then Dharmshala. Residents and tourists were delighted to see snow flakes falling down... But it was a beautiful surprise when people noticed snow in Palampur and various parts of Kangra district. Kangra town got snowfall after 50+ years. Limits of surprises crossed when folks in Hamirpur saw the town in white color. Above photograph is from Hamirpur Town and photo is shared by Akash Deep Photography.Initially when some of us in Delhi saw updates from Hamirpur, most of the folks guessed it hailstorms not snow. Photographs by Akash Deep provided the proof of snowfall in Hamirpur, which is will be remembered for years now. In fact, still people are doubting about the snowfall in Hamirpur town. Two photographs above are shared by Akash Deep.. Since I have lot of facebook friends from Himachal, I am only seeing snowfall photographs for all three days. And all the photographs shared on this post belong to various Himachal Residents who enjoyed the wonderful snowfall in Himachal Pradesh !!!New year (2012) has started very well for Himachal Pradesh and Tourism in the region. Hope all this end with more happiness and prosperity !!!Below shared photographs are also from Hamirpur and shared by Shushil Sharma.Hamirpur Residents playing with snow-balls. A very thin layers of snow was there in Hamirpur, but it was snow not hailstorm :) ... Hope to get more photographs from other regions like Mandi, Manali, Kullu, Lahaul & Kinnaur as well !!
