There were some beautiful lakes inside the park and it was so colorful...Here is one Crocodile having sunbath near a water pond inside Banerghatta National Park in Banglore city of India.... There were few birds disturbing him :-) .. They used to come and pinch him on his back and fly away... That's why you see his open mouth in this photograph... Irritated ... Emu walking in a restricted area of Banerghatta national Park... all of them had some specific regions assigned and they can't go to other's area because of high fences... There were lot of monkeys inside Banerghatta National Park in Banglore... This particular group was very interesting. They were having a long-jump competition with various rules.. We were able to crack few of them but not all :-) There were few supporters sitting on the benches and they used to jump down whenever their player go for a long jump...Colorful tortoise in Banerghatta Zoo.... At the entry gate of Banerghatta National Park, there is a zoo and this photograph has been clicked there... PHOTO JOURNEY inside zoo of Banerghatta National Park Banglore : Posted VJ SHARMA on www.travellingcamera.com : I am sure you will be surprised to hear Zoo and Wildlife Sanctuary at one place... Yes, Banerghatta National Park has a Zoo as well... When I planned for Baneghatta National Park, I was not aware of the fact that it has Zoo as well... After Reaching the ticket counter, I saw a board saying discounted ticket for Wildlife Safari inside the sanctuary and Zoo visit... Banglore Zoo has lot of snakes and most of the crowd is seen around those to figure out where they(snakes) are sitting... Here are few Photographs I was able to click during a quick visit to Banerghatta Zoo... Check out !!!Don't know the name of this bird.. so please do let know in case you know... They were very shy as you can see from the expression in this photograph and there were lot many other birds with various combinations of colors... I had few more photographs of this bird but all were shaky because of lot of movement there... These birds were most active inside the zoo.... Others like snakes, crocodiles, leopards, ducks were really lazy and we couldn't figure out the cause... Even Monkeys were not very active which is a very unusual thing..There were lot many crocodiles inside Banerghatta Zoo and that I saw the height of their laziness... There were few cats inside their court and jumping on their backs.. No Reaction... They used to go near a particular crocodile, check about its activeness by touching the tail and then start all those activities when confirmed that it's not going to hurt them... Many of the folks were standing their for more than 30 minutes to wait for one of the crocodile to take some action, but nothing positive was happening their... and those cats were having fun there :)Sankes - Most popular species inside Banerghatta Zoo.... There was a separate section of various types of snakes and it was naked as snake park inside Banerghatta Zoo... I had never seen these many snakes at one place and there were lot many varieties new for me... It was hard to locate them because many of them were hidden between the branches of the tree or under some rocks etc.. Some of the snakes were 7-10 feet longs and have been playing on bamboo sticks hanging on the trees inside their courts... It seems people don't miss this part of the Zoo during their visit...There was a huge area provided for birds and it was somewhat similar to the Delhi Zoo... Although we were not able to see many birds out there... Also we were very tired after wildlife safari in Banerghatta National Park and didn't want to spend much time to find out more birds there...Many families come to Banerghatta Zoo to enjoy the weekend... I was surprised to see this family with all the stuff like carpet, bat and other stuff... It seems they have come for some picnic but Zoo is not a right place I guess... Ideally eatables and such things should not be allowed inside... I don't have any strong reason for that , but I have seen people making these places dirty... People should think twice before spreading their waste stuff at other's living area... Can they do the same thing inside their house?Oh Yes, I didn't want to miss this particular thing about Banerghatta Zoo... There is a trend of adopting some of the animals of the zoo and many folks have done this... Like this particular Horn bill is adopted by Shri T R Rithvik... This effectively means that Mr. Rrithvik is feeding this Horn bill for some particular duration and probably other costs as well... A nice concept and good idea to support all these rare species on earth...There was a man outside the zooo who was selling some liquid which creates colorful bubbles... I wanted to capture those bubbles but all I was able to capture was bokeh of all those.... Never mind, I like it :)Rohin Duggal, My friend who made my Banglore trip memorable... Thanks to Rohin !!! btw his girlfriend was out of station and I can tease him by saying that :) On the very first day in Baglore we visited lot many places... Banerghatta national Park, zoo, Butterfly house, MG Road, Bragade Road and UB City ...These folks were wondering why I am clicking a photograph of Rohin... and Rohin asked to click one of their photograph to make them happy... Monkeys inside banerghatta Zoo...Afte completing one round inside Banerghatta Zoo, we had some coconut water in the market outside the zoo... It was amazing, but honestly I didn't like the 'malai' inside it...There are few museums inside the Zoo campus.. Here is one with photographs of various types of birds with some details.... There were lot of school children inside this museum to know about various species of birds and next agenda was to locate them outside....There is a small museum in the zoo which showcases zoological exhibits... Banerghatta Zoo has a reptile park and a small theater as well... Banerghatta Zoo is closed on Tuesdays which is a weekly holiday...

Wildlife Safari @ Banerghatta National Park in Banglore City of India : Posted by VJ SHARMA on www.travellingcamera.com : Recently I visited Garden City for five days and though of exploring the beautiful city of Karnataka. Banglore (Bangluru) which is also a popular IT hub in India. One of my close friend work in Banglore with Oracle and he picked me from Hotel on very first day of my arrival in the city. The first place I visited in Banglore was Banerghatta National Park and it was a different experience as compared to Jim Corbett, Ranthambore and other Wild-Life regions... Check out these Photographs to know more about the place and this visit....This was the first time a complete family of Lions and all of them were very close to our bus.. Earlier I had seen Lions in Delhi Zoo and a Zoo near Renuka lake in Himachal Pradesh... There were lot of old lions in Renuka Zoo and that was also a very good experience to hear the roar of a group lions in sync...Bannerghatta National Park is situated 21 kilometers in South Bangalore in Karnataka State of India. Complete Tour of Baneghatta National Park takes nearly 2 hrs. After parking our car we moved towards the ticket counter and this was the first colorful building we saw in the campus of Banerghatta National Park... Reserve opens at 9:00 am in the morning and closes at 5:00 pm in the evening. There is an area near to exit gate where a butterfly house is created. Lot of colorful butterflies can be seen inside that dome but one needs to be patient because most of the time they hide themselves behind various flowers in that dome...Tigers inside Baneghatta were roaming freely on the roads in front of Safari Buses...The Bannerghatta Tiger & Lion Reserve had a reserve of Indian tigers including white tigers, lions and other mammals.... An evening on MG Road of Banglore - During November 2010 : Posted by VJ SHARMA on www.travellingcamera.com : Mahatma Gandhi Road (popularly called as MG Road) is a road in Bangalore, which is capital of Karntaka state of India. It runs east from Trinity Circle at one end to Anil Kumble circle at the other end... Recently I also visited the place and here are few photographs.. : I am sure that I need not to explain about the traffic conditions of the city... I have seen worst traffic conditions in banglore the conditions are not same on all the roads every time but still it wastes lot of time... Few roads inside the city are very narrow and traffic is increasing day by day...MG Road used to be known as South Parade before independence of India. Later it was renamed as Mahatma Gandhi Road during 1948s...Unlike Delhi, cycle-rikshaws are not there in the city. I am not sure about the reason but probably traffic. These slow moving means of conveyance may slow down the traffic further... So Auto-Raikshwas is the only option apart from public Transport.. During the visit I tried both types of buses which run inside the city.. Normal bus and few AC buses... and noticed and must thing in those buses that driver has the control to open the door whenever it stops at a particular bus-stand. Then it automatically closes and passengers can't open the door... Nice thing which should be a must feature in India...There are lot of good showrooms on MG Road and most of the brands, restaurants are available on one side of the road... We came to MG road during the evening after having a nice visit to Banerghatta National Park... We had some snacks at KFC and started roaming around the places there....MG Road is also one of the busiest roads in Banglore city and is lined on one side with various showrooms, food outlets and restaurants etc. It has many office buildings, shops and theaters as well. MG Road is also a pace to look for large number of buildings and banks...On the other side of the road, Metro work was going on and they had places a model of the metro train which is planned to run on these tracks.... People go to see these coaches and also click some photographs with it....Every one in the city is waiting for Metro to start and improve the connectivity of East Banglore with West part !!! The road has been converted into one way ... Commuters traveling towards MG Road from Anil Kumble Junction will have to turn towards Cubbon Road and go towards Manipal Centre & further on to Trinity Junction due to the construction of Metro Track...The famous Hard Rock Cafe of Banglore !!! Its on the other side of the road....MG Road is adjacent to the Museum Road and perpendicular to Brigade Road... It is also pretty close to a shopping area called Commercial Street...Another Photograph of Hard Rock Cafe from other side of the road in Banglore...A Photograph showing traffic conditions on MG Road of Banglore City...Now it was time to move towards Brigade Road which are perpendicular to MG Road in Banglore.... I will few more photographs spcific to Brigade road and its main attractions... Pub Street n all !!!Mcdonalds in native script of Karnataka.. I saw this first time.... Even companies like Oracle had mentioned their name in Kannada ...

A Quick Photo Journey to Leela Regency Hotel in Banglore : Posted by VJ SHARMA on www.travellingcamera.com : During the recent visit to IT City of India, Banglore, I spent some time in Leela Regency with few of my friends... Here are few photographs I was able to click at this place.. Check Out...Architecture of this hotel is really very different... I think its a 5 Star Hotel and had some very nice restaurants...A Photograph of front entry to the Hotel ...I don't know what exactly we call to these kind of parkings, where sturdy iron poles can handle three cars one above the other with appropriate separators, which can be lifted up and down without disturbing other two cars...Sitting area around Barista inside Leela Regency...Another Photograph of Artistic Pillars inside Leela Regency in Banglore....Passage from main Lobby of the Hotel towards Barista...I was not very comfortable with idea of clicking photographs there, because all the people around me were noticing the sound of my shutter.... Thanks to Rohin for encouraging me and making me click these very quickly :) Hotel has nice garden on the boundaries and here is a photograph of an artificial waterfall in one of the gardens... Lovely place to roam and sit around...Photograph of one side of the Hotel clicked from the garden... Very low light and no tripod :(Mid Night Coffee Sessions in Barista which is inside Leela Regency...So I had few visits to the Hotel during 5 days of my stay and it was limited to Coffee Sessions at Barista and nothing else... Other good part was Fried Rice @ a roadside kiosk behind the hotel... Thanks to Rohin and his friends for wonderful stay in Banglore !!!

Some Photographs of Old Banglore Region which are clicked during Nov 2010 : Posted by VJ SHARMA on www.travellingcamera.com : During my last visit to Banglore I had to meet one of my cousin who was living in other part of the city which was near Ramiah medical college... This is what she said phone that you have to come to Ramiah Hospital and Call me... I was not sure where it is and how much time it will take to reach there from my hotel... So one of my friend picked me from Hotel in the morning and dropped near this college... here are few photographs I clicked during this ride with short description about our conversation on the way...Here is one of the photograph clicked near Ramaiah Medical College ... I didn't had much time to have right settings on my camera to capture it better because of moving car, but I really love these colorful temples and their designs on the top...Here is the point where my friend dropped and I had to walk for 2 kms to reach my cousin's place... It was a lovely walk through green areas of the city... Ramiah Hospital has a huge campus which include a medical college as well... I think this was one of the famous hospitals in Banglore City..While driving till Ramaiah Hospital, my friend was telling that the area around Ramiah Hospital is considered as Old Banglore which is comparatively less populated and has wide roads with sufficient green areas... We also saw a lake on the way... It was beautiful and I wanted to spend some time there... Unfortunately, my fiend had to go to office after dropping me and I also had to reach on time... So skipped the idea of stopping the car there and spend some time...Again a Photograph of Ramiah Hospital in Banglore City ...After walking for some time around this place, I got a sense that many colleges are located around this place.. On reaching at cousin's place I asked her and IISc was near to her house... I wanted to visit IISc campus but spent lot of time at home and missed that opportunity due to lack of time in the evening... A shaky shot of roads in this area.. Vehicles moving under a green tunnel which is made up of tree on both the sides of roads... Loved the green beauty of this part of city.. Their were few more areas of the city which had beautiful landscapes... I also loved the area near to Mysoore Highway !!!While going towards IISc from West Banglore, we had to cross Golf Course of the city... Here is a photograph showing the boundaries of Golf Course on left side...Another photograph of Green tunnels near Banglore Golf Course ....ITC Windsor Bridge which is a sort of landmark when you have to tell where you are on Airport road... Most of the information is just a guess and may not be completely true as this has been concluded from my conversation with the friend during the ride towards Indian Institute of Science in Banglore..

Mid Night Coffee Sessions @ BARISTA in Leela Regency, Banglore, Karnataka, INDIA : Posted by VJ SHARMA at www.travellingcamera.com : Recently I visited Banglore for a two days conference and Leela Regency is the place where I spent most of the time during nights, if I exclude Conference time :-) One of my friend is fan of BARISTA there and we used to go their every night ... So here are some photographs of four well spent nights at BARISTA, Leela Regency, Banglore... Check out... : Here comes the first cup of Cappuccino on first visit to the place.... It was around 12:15 am and there were very few people around us... suddenly crowd started coming in and after few minutes some seats were arranged in the garden area.... It is daily routine in that cafe.... 00:00 - 03:00 am .... : People start entering this cafe after 00:00 and the hustle-bustle at the place is like a normal day time... No one can imagine that its mid night and people are having multiple coffee sessions out there.... Lot of folks from IT companies, BPOs and colleges... even I saw various families visiting the place during this time.... From all these visits I realized the safely measures of the city... I really liked the city in terms of security during the nights.. no one is worried about being on roads during late nights, while its exactly opposite in Noida :( There are lot many places in Banglore where one can find lot of folks having dinner or snacks... Even there was a 'THELA' in front of Leela regency to offer dinner - Omelette, Fried Rice etc... Many folks come to these places to have dinner... I also enjoyed one night dinner there :-) Busy staff @ Barista, Leela Regency, Banglore In the beginning, whole space was calm and we were first four customers on second day.... I don't remember exact time but surely it was after 11:30 pm...Third cup down... and more into philosophical mood... During one of the sessions, I was getting bored because they were discussing office stuff there :( Dimmed lighting inside .... It was 3:00 am in the morning and these folks were still discussing office stuff... Just look at the faces and make a guess.. was it coffee or some alcoholic drink??? These coffee sessions were best part of my journey to Banglore.... I met Rohin after 5 years and probably discussed most of the things we did during college :)

Kalmane coffees @ Forum Mall in Banglore City - Rohin's favorite place for breakfast : Posted by VJ SHARMA at www.travellingcamera.com : Few days back I got a chance to visit Banglore for a conference. This was my first visit outside Noida in last five years :) ... One of my friend Rohin is working in Banglore with Oracle and he picked me from Hotel on the very first day morning...
