MTB fun on Sixth day at Jalori Pass covered with Snow (Mountain Terrain Biking in Himachal Pradesh)

Jalori Pass was an exciting destination to hit during our MTB Journey which started from Shimla during last year... Jalori Pass is at 11000 feet and its considered as the nearest mountain pass from Delhi... Its  approximately 600 km away from Delhi... Here are few photographs of Jalori Pass clicked during 6th day of MTB Himachal 2010...It was sixth day of MTB Himachal when we had to reach Jalori Pass during the noon ... Everyone was excited about the fact that Jalori Pass has got fresh snowfall and they are going to have fun there.. So after reaching the place, riders parked their bikes and moved towards the hills covered with snow.. Here is a photograph of bike parked with snow on the background hills...Here are two champions of PHOTOQUEST who enjoyed the most during our break of 1.5 Hrs at Jalori Pass... A small market is there on the entry of Jalori Pass and crossing through the hills behind temple, we found lot of snow on neighboring hills.... Ankit and Sumit had great fun their by experimenting various tricks in snow...Full on masti at Jalori Pass.. Here Ankit was trying to make a hole in the snow by jumping on top of it... He wanted to see the actual depth of this snow-store...I had very few photographs during MTB Himachal but at Jalori I wanted to have one :) ... A proof that we saw snow in Jalori Pass in October !!! Yo !!!There is a temple in the middle of Jalori Market and this photograph is showinf snow on hills behind Jalori Temple.. Snow level was increasing as we started moving on the road which connects Jalori Pass with Bangar Region...There were few PR people with MTB troop and they continuously connected some selected riders with various news agencies... Here one of the riders at Jalori Pass talking to some journalist over phone... He is from US and came to MTB with one of the group from Nepal...This was the second time when I saw these rider doing some stunts.... They were very excited and had great fun with their stunts and also played with snowballs.... Here are few details about the places which can be visited during a trek/trip to Jalori Pass in Himachal Pradesh :Raghupur Fort: Raghupur has snow-covered peaks. This wonderful and picturesque place is located at approximately 360 meters. Raghupur has an old fort built by the King of Kullu. The fort is surrounded by wide trenches with a small pond in middle of it. The walls of the fort are marked by bullet holes... There is a good camping ground at Ragupur Fort as well as fantastic views of the Outer Seraj valley... Seems interesting and I would love to visit it sometime in future...Sareul lake: Sareul is a small lake located at about 3000 meters. This lake is at very calm place and its considered as the place of goddess Budhi Nagin. Pilgrims walk around the lake and pour an continuous round of ghee. This is good camping site with few small caves to explore... The area is surrounded by dense jungles having various types of colorful flowers...Lambhari Top: Lambhari is a hilltop which offers beautiful views of snow covered Himalayan peaks... Its a place where local folks come to find out some medicinal plants... Nice flower meadows, forests and amazing views in the surroundings... Sakiran Top: Sakiran Top has a beautiful temple of Rishi Shringiji.

Jalori Pass is at 11000 feet and its considered as the nearest mountain pass from Delhi... Its approximately 600 km away from Delhi... Jalori Pass is a popular destination on adventure tourist’s map... Here are few photographs of Jalori Pass clicked during 6th day of MTB Himachal 2010...It was sixth day of MTB Himachal when we had to reach Jalori Pass during the noon ... Everyone was excited about the fact that Jalori Pass has got fresh snowfall and they are going to have fun there.. So after reaching the place, riders parked their bikes and moved towards the hills covered with snow.. Here is a photograph of bike parked with snow on the background hills...Here are two champions of PHOTOQUEST who enjoyed the most during our break of 1.5 Hrs at Jalori Pass... A small market is there on the entry of Jalori Pass and crossing through the hills behind temple, we found lot of snow on neighboring hills.... Ankit and Sumit had great fun their by experimenting various tricks in snow...Full on masti at Jalori Pass.. Here Ankit was trying to make a hole in the snow by jumping on top of it... He wanted to see the actual depth of this snow-store...I had very few photographs during MTB Himachal but at Jalori I wanted to have one :) ... A proof that we saw snow in Jalori Pass in October !!! The fort is surrounded by wide trenches with a small pond in middle of it. The walls of the fort are marked by bullet holes... There is a good camping ground at Ragupur Fort as well as fantastic views of the Outer Seraj valley... Seems interesting and I would love to visit it sometime in future...Sareul lake: Sareul is a small lake located at about 3000 meters. This lake is at very calm place and its considered as the place of goddess Budhi Nagin. Pilgrims walk around the lake and pour an continuous round of ghee. This is good camping site with few small caves to explore... The area is surrounded by dense jungles having various types of colorful flowers...Lambhari Top: Lambhari is a hilltop which offers beautiful views of snow covered Himalayan peaks... Its a place where local folks come to find out some medicinal plants... Nice flower meadows, forests and amazing views in the surroundings... Sakiran Top: Sakiran Top has a beautiful temple of Rishi Shringiji.

MTB fun on Sixth day at Jalori Pass covered with Snow (Mountain Terrain Biking in Himachal Pradesh) : Posted by VJ SHARMA on www.travellingcamera.com :Jalori Pass was an exciting destination to hit during our MTB Journey which started from Shimla during last year... Jalori Pass is at 11000 feet and its considered as the nearest mountain pass from Delhi... Its approximately 600 km away from Delhi... Jalori Pass is a popular destination on adventure tourist’s map... Here are few photographs of Jalori Pass clicked during 6th day of MTB Himachal 2010...It was sixth day of MTB Himachal when we had to reach Jalori Pass during the noon ... Everyone was excited about the fact that Jalori Pass has got fresh snowfall and they are going to have fun there.. So after reaching the place, riders parked their bikes and moved towards the hills covered with snow.. Here is a photograph of bike parked with snow on the background hills...Here are two champions of PHOTOQUEST who enjoyed the most during our break of 1.5 Hrs at Jalori Pass... A small market is there on the entry of Jalori Pass and crossing through the hills behind temple, we found lot of snow on neighboring hills.... Ankit and Sumit had great fun their by experimenting various tricks in snow...Full on masti at Jalori Pass.. Here Ankit was trying to make a hole in the snow by jumping on top of it... He wanted to see the actual depth of this snow-store...I had very few photographs during MTB Himachal but at Jalori I wanted to have one :) ... A proof that we saw snow in Jalori Pass in October !!! Yo !!!There is a temple in the middle of Jalori Market and this photograph is showinf snow on hills behind Jalori Temple.. Snow level was increasing as we started moving on the road which connects Jalori Pass with Bangar Region...There were few PR people with MTB troop and they continuously connected some selected riders with various news agencies... Here one of the riders at Jalori Pass talking to some journalist over phone... He is from US and came to MTB with one of the group from Nepal...This was the second time when I saw these rider doing some stunts.... They were very excited and had great fun with their stunts and also played with snowballs.... First time they showcases all such stunts on Ridge Ground in Shimla during opening ceremony of MTB Himachal 2010 ....Another Mountain Terrain Biker @ Jalori Pass, Himachal Pradesh, INDIA... Many bike riders come to Jalori Pass every year and follow various himlayan terrains .... I was not sad about the fact because I had no time during the event to stay back and spend few days at Jalori Pass... Here are few details about the places which can be visited during a trek/trip to Jalori Pass in Himachal Pradesh :Raghupur Fort: Raghupur has snow-covered peaks. This wonderful and picturesque place is located at approximately 360 meters. Raghupur has an old fort built by the King of Kullu. The fort is surrounded by wide trenches with a small pond in middle of it. The walls of the fort are marked by bullet holes... There is a good camping ground at Ragupur Fort as well as fantastic views of the Outer Seraj valley... Seems interesting and I would love to visit it sometime in future...Sareul lake: Sareul is a small lake located at about 3000 meters. This lake is at very calm place and its considered as the place of goddess Budhi Nagin. Pilgrims walk around the lake and pour an continuous round of ghee. This is good camping site with few small caves to explore... The area is surrounded by dense jungles having various types of colorful flowers...Lambhari Top: Lambhari is a hilltop which offers beautiful views of snow covered Himalayan peaks... Its a place where local folks come to find out some medicinal plants... Nice flower meadows, forests and amazing views in the surroundings... Sakiran Top: Sakiran Top has a beautiful temple of Rishi Shringiji.

After coming back I talked to one of my friend who visited Jalori Pass many times and I got to know about  various interesting places I missed. I was not sad about the fact because I had no time during the event to stay back and spend few days at Jalori Pass... Here are few details about the places which can be visited during a trek/trip to Jalori Pass in Himachal Pradesh :


Raghupur Fort: Raghupur has snow-covered peaks. This wonderful and picturesque place is located at approximately 360 meters. Raghupur has an old fort built by the King of Kullu. Main places to see & Top things to do around Dalhousie : Stunning Hill Station in Himalayan State of India

  Dalhousie is one of the most popular Hill Stations in Himachal  and there is lot to explore around Dalhousie. This is small and very well maintained town in Chamba region of Himachal Pradesh . This Photo Journey shares some of the exciting places around Chamba and how to plan a good one day tour through Khajjiar, Chamba & Chamera etc. CHAMERA HYDROLIC PROJECT Chamera Hydroelectric Project is located in Banikhet, 7 kms from Dalhousie. The water body near the lake is very scenic and is a popular boating spot. Chamera Dam is around 40 kilometers from Chamba Town. It takes approximately 1.5 hrs to reach the place is road condition is good. Overall it’s a little dry terrain as compared to Dalhousie and Khajjiar. And temperature also goes up as we go towards Chamera Dam.  As you move out from Chamba town, you follow Ravi river for some time and then take right. After 45 minutes of drive, you get a glimpse of Chemera Dam.
