COVID-19 Lockdown brings blue sky, beautiful sunsets and pleasant weather in Noida/Delhi-NCR

Is this title appropriate - this thought occurred to me when I started writing this blogpost. I thought about it a lot and also considered changing it, but then decided that I should not manipulate the thoughts that naturally occur to me. And honestly, I have been enjoying the blue sky for last 4 weeks now and everyday I wait for 6:15pm to go out in the balcony & enjoy the rare sunsets in Noida. And all this doesn't stop here. How many of you noticed that weather is great considering we are very close to mid of April and no AC are on yet. This blogpost is also appreciating all this goodness about nature in cities like Noida, where seeing blue sky is rare.

I have been working from home for last 4 weeks now and in the past, I never preferred working from home. In fact, I don't remember ever availing the work-from-home facility, except on a few instances when I had medical emergencies in family and I had to be at home. It was hard but with time I could figure out how to make it work. Honestly, I am still struggling because it's becoming hard to decide when you open your home office and when to close. So there is some sense of extreme busyness. But guess what, I love to be busy so that's a good part of this. I am grateful that I work for an industry/company, wherein I can continue to work from home. Why am I telling you all this and how is it related to the topic of this blogpost?

Well, the above paragraph is related. Now that I have to work from home, these reasons are giving huge moral support and become reasons of bringing some positivity and smile on the face. Everyday, I have a reason to go out in balconies because I know there would be a good view of the sky and very often there is a nice, cool breeze. And most of the times, nature is manages to pleasantly surprise me.

In the month of April, we don't need to keep our house closed and keep ACs running all the time. Morning starts with opening up all curtains and doors to have fresh air enter into the house. Honestly, I never feel like doing that in Noida except on a few occasions when it rains or when the weather is good. Winter pollution and hot summers always managed to discourage any such thoughts. Recall those days, when you have to keep you doors closed to ensure air-purifiers are effective or air-conditioners keep the house at appropriate temperature. So I am grateful about the current weather and hence all these beautiful colors in the sky.

My views may not be completely aligning scientifically, but I would want to believe that removing vehicles from roads for weeks has made a huge change in environment. I am seeing those Yamuna photograph being shared on social media. Did you think that water in rivers also looks beautiful when you have blue sky? So a dirty river looks worse when the sky is gloomy and a less dirty river looks better when blueness of the sky reflects in it.

Everyday sunsets are keeping me sane in my infinite working hours routine. How? Sunset time has sort of become a reason for a good break. During sunset, I go out in balcony and sit there for some time without my laptop. Click some photographs and try to indulge in things which I have never done in the past. During regular days, I used to leave the house at around 8:30am and there was not fixed time when I would come back home. Broadly speaking, I used to come back after 8pm most of the times. And guess what - I never had time to learn a thing about my neighborhood. During this time, I realized that the basketball court in our society is ony a half court. And this is visible from all 3 balconies of my house.

So, there are some lessons from this period which we need to keep in mind and we would see some new trends emerge as we move on from the current state. Anyways, I wish that we get out of the current state soon and change our habits in such a way that we can always have blue sky, awesome sunsets and better weather.
