Govt Museum and Art Gallery - A must visit place in Banglore

Art Museum in Banglore is brilliant place to explore and has lot to offer for folks who are looking for creative inspirations. Initially I was not planning to visit this place and I feel lucky to come towards this side of the city & explore Art Museum. It's located just behind Karnataka High Court and near Cubbon Park.

It's adjacent to Vishvesvarya Science & Technology Museum. Entry ticket for Art Museum just costs 4 Rs to you. I took one ticket and asked if I have to buy another ticket for Camera. The person on counter said "no, just go inside and have lovely time. We recommend that you spend more time exploring archives rather than clicking photographs". I loved that but I also need to take care of viewers of this blog, so clicked some of these photographs :).

Different galleries in Art Museum has sections for sculptures, natural history , geology , art, music and numismatics. From all the history museums I have seen so far, this was one of the best. Historical stuff placed is very organised way and with appropriate details written alongside. Also the placement is spacious and very well thought.

This museum is an archaeological museum and has a rare collection of archaeological as well as geological artifacts including old jewellery, sculpture, coins and inscriptions. Some of these are like wow. You would see things written which you referred in school time. The museum has seventy plus paintings, 80+ sculptures, and 100s of other artifacts, some of which unique to the museum. The museum has sculpture from the Hoysala, Gandhara and Nolamba periods.

Museum is very well maintained and I was happy to see lot of people visiting the museum & were respectful towards the space. It was such an inspiring visit to the museum as I also got to see 2 curated shows and it was the last day of those shows. I would be doing a separate story on these exhibitions as one of them was about bhuj earthquake and it transformed an Artist's life.

If you liked this post and found it helpful, I would request you to follow these things when traveling -

- Manage your waste well and don’t litter
- Use dustbins. Tell us if you went to a place and found it hard to locate a dustbin.
- Avoid bottle waters in hills. Usually you get clean water in hills and water bottles create lot of mess in our ecosystem.
- Say big no to plastic and avoid those unhealthy snacks packed in plastic bags. Rather buy fruits.

- Don't play loud blaring music in forests of jungle camps. You are a guest in that ecosystem and disturbing the locals (humans and animals) is not polite
