When you go towards Shillong view point, the road condition is little unpredictable and on your way, you need to go through some security checks at entry gate of Indian Air Force. One needs to carry an identity card because security guards at the entry gate check that and only allow people who have valid identity card. It takes some time here becaue lot of tourist vehicles are usually queued for completing the security check. Vehicles are allowed to taken inside but must follow the route which directly takes to the Shillong View Point. There are some shops if you want to have some snacks, tea, drinks.

Shillong view point is located about 10 km south of Shillong City and it's the highest point of Shillong. This place provides great views of Shillong city like what you can see in above photograph. This place also makes you aware about how big Shillong in. I didn't think Shillong is such big city and this place changed my views. There are some huge buildings visible from this view point. There are few waterfalls close to this place, but we chose to skip those and directly went to Mawlynnong Living root bridge.
