Wat Phan Tao - The place with Buddha sitting under Banyan tree in Chiang Mai, Thailand

Wat Phantao may not show up as top places to visit and explore in Chiang Mai or may also not come across as a popular name in Chiang mai, but it's hard to miss it especially if you plan to explore Sunday market in Chiang Mai city centre or if you are trying to find that beautiful place which has Buddha sitting under a tree & lit very well during evenings. Wat Phantao is not only about that but I would prefer to introduce it like that. If you are in Chiang Mai during weekend then I am sure you would not want to miss Sunday market which happens very close to the place where Wat Chedi Luang is located. And while walking around the Sunday market in Chiang Mai, you can't miss Wat Phantao and it's glitter all around.    There is no entry fee for Wat Phan Tao. If I have to claim, I would say Wat Pha Tao is best in Chiang Mai old city in terms of ambiance and especially in the evening. This teak marvel is located pretty close to Wat Chedi Luang.
